The leader of our trio of Silkies, Madame is always seen flanked by Pudding and Alice. When given the chance to free range, the three are always foraging together. Madame also helps the other two with their grooming, primping and preening them until they’re the best-looking trio in the coop.

Silkies are one of the very few chicken breeds with fibromelanosis, which is a hyperpigmentation of the skin, organs, and bones. Under those beautiful, fluffy feathers, Silkies are bluish-black all the way down to their bones. Quite different from the typical chicken!
